Suplex (スープレックス, Supurekkusu) is a wrestling fighting technique. It is also popularized with the name German (ジャーマン, Jāman) in the manga (referring to the "German Suplex" term).

Description[]

The user grabs the opponent with both arms from behind, then they throw the opponent backward and slams them, often resulting with the back of the opponent's head landing on the ground. The move is generally used by wrestlers and mixed martial artists. However, the technique isn't perfect and can be countered: if the user is not careful, their opponent can counterattack by striking with either elbows or a headbutt. The opponent can also uses their foot to "hook" on the user's leg, preventing to fall first on the ground.

For the first time in the series, the technique was used by Mount Toba in his fight with Baki Hanma in the first series. Later, during the same match, Baki used a suplex against him as well. In the Grappler Baki Gaiden: Antonio Igari vs Mount Toba manga spinoff, Kanji Igari performed the technique on Mount Toba but when he attempted to do another suplex, Toba countered by hooking his feet on Igari's leg, avoiding to land head first on the floor with Igari hitting his head instead. In his rematch against Pickle, Jack Hanma knocked him out by applying a sequence of three Suplexes one after the other that proved strong enough to knock him out, something that was considered impossible.
