Yakuza Punch (ヤクザパンチ, Yakuza Panchi) is a special punch of Kaoru Hanayama. It is widely considered as his signature move. This technique may also be referred to as Destructive Force (破壊力, Hakai-ryoku).
Description[]
Kaoru Hanayama can perform an incredibly strong punch known as Destructive Force. He uses a combination of his supernatural skills, which consist of grip, body weight and speed, he then proceeds to punch his opponent. In the manga, it has been described in the following way: Grip strength X Body weight X Speed = Destructive Force (握力X体重 Xスピード=破壊力, Akuryoku X Taijū X Supīdo = Hakai-ryoku). In order to execute the move, he has to mimic a baseball pitcher's posture to increase the force of his punch using the momentum gained from a full-force arm swing, similar to how a pitcher used this posture to throw the baseball at an extremely high speed.
For the first time, he used his Yakuza Punch against Tommy Carbine in the first series. Kaoru also used this technique against 13-year old Baki Hanma when he was 15, and later against Katsumi Orochi at the age 19 during the Maximum Tournament Saga. Also, in the second series, he brutally beat Spec using this technique. In Hanma Baki VS Kengan Ashura, Hanayama used this move against Saw Paing Yoroizuka. In the fourth manga series, this technique was strong enough to give Yuujirou Hanma a bloody nose (however, Yuujirou seemed to feel no pain). Hanayama's Yakuza Punch was also strong enough to sent Musashi Miyamoto flying away. During his fight against Shachihoko, in the fifth series, he used the technique to knock the sumo wrestler giving him a bloody nose. In the sixth manga series, he used this technique against Junichi Hanada during their sparring match, but ended up being knocked out by his own punch due to Hanada using throwing technique to counter it.
